To^.i-lo^~i kho^ng la` ti`nh co+`.  DDo'|Sin is no accident.  It is the
la` ha^.u-qua? tu+.-nhie^n cu?a mo^.t   |natural consequence of a definite
tra.ng-tha'i ta^m-ho^`n co'             |soul state.  In the sinning soul
quye^'t-ddi.nh.  Ta co' the^? ti`m      |is to be found traces of the
tha^'y da^'u ve^'t cu?a ma-qui? trong   |devil:  "He who commits sin is of
linh-ho^`n pha.m to^.i .  "Ke? na`o     |the evil" (I John 3: 8).  In the
pha.m to^.i la` thuo^.c ve^` ma qui?" (I|sinning soul is to be found no
Gia(ng 3:8).  Trong linh ho^`n          |trace of God:  "No one who abides
to^.i-lo^~i kho^ng co' da^'u ve^'t cu?a |in Him sins; no one who sins has

The^' ne^n, to^.i-lo^~i bie^?u-lo^. su+.|Sin, therefore, is the
hie^.n-hu+~u cu?a Sa-tan va` la`        |manifestation of the presence of
ba(`ng-chu+'ng ve^` su+. thie^'u-va('ng |Satan as it is proof of the
DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i .  DDo' la` su+.    |absence of God.  It is rebellion
pha?n-la.i DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i va`      |against God and submission to the
tu`ng-phu.c ma-qui?.  "Vi` su+. cha(m   |devil.  "For the mind that is set
ve^` xa'c-thi.t nghi.ch vo+'i DDu+'c    |on the flesh is hostile to God;
Chu'a Tro+`i, bo+?i no' kho^ng phu.c    |it does not submit to God's law,
du+o+'i lua^.t-pha'p DDu+'c Chu'a       |indeed it cannot" (Romans 8:7). 
Tro+`i, la.i cu~ng kho^ng the^? phu.c   |God must hate sin, because it is
ddu+o+.c" (Ro^-ma 8:7).  DDu+'c Chu'a   |essentially antagonistic to Him. 
Tro+`i kho^ng u+a to^.i-lo^~i, vi`      |Sin is not simply a disregard of
to^.i-lo^~i ddo^'i-la^.p cu`ng Nga`i .  |God, but an active opposition to

ta'ch ro+`i nhau .  To^.i-lo^~i da^~n   |sinner.  And here is spiritual

Chu'ng ta ne^n nho+' ra(`ng to^.i-lo^~i |Here let it be remembered that
la` vo^ nhie^n.  Con ngu+o+`i ta.o ra   |sin is unnatural.  Man was not
kho^ng vi` ma qui? va` to^.i-lo^~i, song|made for the devil and sin, but
vi` DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i va` su+.        |for God and righteousness.  This
co^ng-bi`nh.  DDo' la` ly'-do vi` sao   |is why sin curses and never
to^.i-lo^~i nguye^`n-ru?a va` cha(?ng   |blesses man.  This is why sin
bao gio+` chu'c-la`nh cho loa`i ngu+o+`i|results in a sense of guilt.  The
.  DDo' la` ly'-do vi` sao to^.i-lo^~i  |soul of the sinner is in a state
ddu+a-da^~n dde^'n y'-thu+'c pha.m-to^.i|of chaos.  The conscience, the
.  Linh-ho^`n cu?a ke? pha.m-to^.i na(`m|compass of the soul, is not
trong tra.ng-tha'i xo^-bo^`,            |pointing Godward.  Hence, the
ho^~n-ddo^.n.  Lu+o+ng-ta^m, la` ddi.a  |sinner is not at "rest."  Nor can
ba`n cu?a linh ho^`n, kho^ng co`n chi?  |he be truly happy apart from God.
hu+o+'ng ve^` DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i . Vi` |Hell is hell because God is not
the^' to^.i-nha^n kho^ng ddu+o+.c       |present.  The wicked shall
an-nghi?.  Ho. kho^ng ti`m tha^'y cha^n |"suffer punishment, even eternal
ha.nh-phu+o+'c ngoa`i DDu+'c Chu'a      |destruction from the face of the
Tro+`i .  DDi.a-ngu.c la` ddi.a-ngu.c   |Lord and from the glory of His
vi` kho^ng co' su+. hie^.n-hu+~u cu?a   |might (2 Thessalonians 1:9).  And

AI PHA.M TO^.I ?                        |WHO IS GUILTY OF SIN?

Va`o mo^.t lu'c na`o ddo' trong cuo^.c  |At sometime in life, every man
so^'ng, mo.i ngu+o+`i tro+? tha`nh      |becomes a sinner.  Paul declares
to^.i-nha^n.  Phao-lo^ tuye^n bo^'      |that  "There is none righteous,
"kho^ng ai co^ng-bi`nh, du` mo^.t       |no, not one and all have sinned
ngu+o+`i cu~ng kho^ng" va` "ta^'t ca?   |and come short of the glory of
dde^`u pha.m to^.i thie^'u ma^'t su+.   |God (Romans 3:10,23).  Every man
vinh-hie^?n cu?a DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i"   |needs to understand that he has
(Ro^-ma 3:10,23).  Mo.i ngu+o+`i ca^`n  |sinned against God and that he is
hie^?u ra(`ng mi`nh dda~ pha.m to^.i    |unable to cope with the (power of
cu`ng DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i va` kho^ng    |sin apart from divine help.  When
the^? ddu+o+ng dda^`u vo+'i             |a man turns to his own way, he
"quye^`n-lu+.c" cu?a to^.i-lo^~i, ne^'u |turns from God.  "All we like
kho^ng co' su+. tro+. giu'p tha^`n-linh.|sheep have gone astray; we have

Co^ng-ly' DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i ddo`i-ho?i|God's justice demands that man be
con ngu+o+`i pha?i bi. tru+`ng-pha.t    |punished for his sins.  From the
ve^` to^.i-lo^~i mi`nh.  Ngay tu+`      |beginning God's decree has been
ban-dda^`u le^.nh DDu+'c Chu'a Tro+`i   |"the soul that sins, it shall
dda~ rao-truye^`n "Linh-ho^`n na`o      |die"  (Ezekiel 18:20).  Paul
pha.m-to^.i thi` se~ che^'t"            |reaffirms this condemnation of
(E^-xe^-chi-e^n 18:20).  Phao-lo^ cu~ng |sinful man: "For the wages of sin
xa'c-nha^.n la.i su+. le^n-a'n ddo'     |is death" (Romans 6:23a).  Since
